ClearSpeech® Adaptive Speech Filters (ASF and ASFII) are patented algorithms designed to filter noise from signals containing both speech and noise.
ASF and ASFII are both effective against a wide variety of broadband 'stationary' noises whose amplitude and pitch change slowly compared to the spectral variations characteristic of human speech. Examples of such noises are those produced by computer fans, vehicle engines and automobiles. As the background 'stationary' noise changes, ASF/ASFII adapts to the changes and continues to filter out the noise.
For applications such as a radio communication systems, where the background noise includes tonal, as well as broadband noises, ASF is the algorithm of choice.

ClearSpeech® Voice Recognition Enhancer (VRE) is an adaptive algorithm
designed to filter noise from speech, to improve the accuracy and speed of
speech recognition systems used in noisy environments.
VRE was developed to meet the demanding requirements of automotive,
Mobile and Handheld device-based speech recognition applications, improving hit rates and response times. Effective as a pre-processor for both ‘command and control’ as well as ‘continuous speech recognition’ systems, VRE can also provide noise reduction to enhance communications between humans.
